William and Kate top the list of ideal Christmas dinner guests

William and Kate are regulars on the society dinner party circuit and regularly support their various charities at black tie events.Now the royal power couple have topped the list of famous faces that people would like to invite to share their Christmas dinner.The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge beat off competition from TOWIE star Joey Essex, Stephen Fry, Harry Potter author JK Rowling and heartthrobs George Clooney and Harry Styles in the poll conducted by gift website personalise.co.uk.

The new parents, who are famed for being friendly and down-to-earth, will of course be spending over the festive period with their own family.

Prince William , Kate and their baby son Prince George will spend Christmas at the Queen's home in Sandringham where the five-month-old will no doubt be the centre of his doting relatives' attention.The young family are due to arrive on Christmas Eve when the family – including the Queen, Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry, the Duke of York, Princess Anne and her pregnant daughter Zara – will sit down for dinner together.On Christmas morning the royals will head to the local village church for the traditional annual service before enjoying lunch.

Last year the Duke and Duchess broke with tradition by spending Christmas with her parents at their home in Berkshire.

According to reports, the Middleton family will join the royals in Sandringham on Boxing Day.
