"One key issue is secure accommodation where the then nine-month-old Prince George, third in line to the throne, can be cared for while the royal couple meet what is likely to be a gruelling program. "William and Kate appear to be taking a leaf out of Charles and Diana's book, as they also made a base for themselves in the state of New South Wales when they visited the country with Prince William in 1983.Charles and Diana chose the Woomargama homestead, located near the city of Albury, as their home for the times on the tour when they were not travelling.

Locals said that Princess Diana told them that the couple were enjoying life in the house when she took the time to speak to them personally and it is also believed that the young Prince William took his first steps inside the homestead.During their time in Australia the royal couple are tipped to be guests of honour at Royal Randwick's racing festival in Sydney.William and Kate will be particularly keen to cheer on the Queen’s racehorse, Carlton House, which has recently been trained in Australia, and is due to take part.
