After his third day at university, new student Prince William was spotted running to catch the train home so that he could spend the evening with birthday girl, Kate Middleton.Dressed casually in beige trousers, a black jacket, trainers and baseball cap and carrying a rucksack – a far cry from the smart suit he donned for his first day at Cambridge University earlier this week – William dashed to make the train shortly before 5pm.
The new dad, who clearly wanted to get home to be with the Duchess on her 32nd birthday, had spent the day studying at the prestigious university where he is enrolled on a ten-week bespoke course in agricultural management.
He returned to the world of study on Tuesday when, having taken the train from London King's Cross, he arrived at Cambridge and toured St John's College where some of his studies will take place.
The intensive course, which has been specifically tailored for the prince, will no doubt put him in good stead for his future role of running the Duchy of Cornwall — a portfolio of land, property and investments he will inherit from his father Prince Charles.
William will have roughly 20 hours per week of seminars and tutorials, where he will work alongside a select few PhD students. The father-of-one is expected to learn about the issues facing the UK's rural communities and the farming industry.
Ahead of the start of the course, Kensington Palace confirmed William's attendance and said that the prince was "very much looking forward" to his studies.
