When Princess Mary of Denmark wakes up on her 42nd birthday on February 5, the first people to congratulate her apart from husband Prince Frederik, will be the couple's four children, Christian, eight, Isabella, six, and three-year-old twins Vincent and Josephine.
Their apartment inside Amalienborg Palace is a proper family home, full of joy and laughter, even despite the magnificence of the surroundings. The elegant Australian-born royal, who will one eventually be Queen, presides over the proceedings with a loving, gracious touch.She is a hands on, tactile mother, who throws herself into all sorts of activities with the little ones such as cycling, riding and skiing. Talking to HELLO! a few years ago, the Princess described a typical morning in the royal residence. "In the morning we make porridge, and all sit around the dining table," said Mary. "Then we talk and eat, while our dog Ziggy runs in and out. It's really cosy. "Frederik explained that they don't have help at the start and at the end of the day.
