Prince Amedeo of Belgium is engaged to his long-term girlfriend Elisabetta Rosboch von Wolkenstein.
The happy news was announced by the Belgian Royal Court on Saturday. "Their Royal Highnesses Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz announce with great pleasure the engagement of His Royal Highness Prince Amedeo with Miss Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein," read the statement.
Elisabetta — known more commonly as Lili — looks the picture of elegance in an immaculate cream suit and red pumps. The blonde beauty, who is of Italian descent, is pictured sharing a laugh with her future mother-in-law Princess Astrid in one photo. In another, Elisabetta and her fiancé are snapped strolling arm in arm through the gardens.
Amedeo, 27, and Elisabetta, 26, have been dating for around seven years and live together in New York City.
The Belgian royal, who is sixth-in-line to the throne, is the eldest grandchild of King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium. Amedeo was educated at a British military academy and the London School of Economics, but crossed over stateside to work as an analyst in Deloitte shortly after graduating.
The following day, the bride-to-be's parents gathered with the Belgian royals to have their official portraits taken. In the photos, Amedeo and Elisabetta are seen beaming away as they stand at the centre of their loved ones.
Reports add that the couple will tie the knot later this year.
Earlier this week Amedeo and Elisabetta were seen being blessed by Pope Francis at the Vatican alongside hundreds of other engaged couples, leading to speculation that an engagement was imminent.
The Rome-born beauty, who is the only child of Ettore Rosboch von Wolkenstein and Countess Lilia Smecchia, works as a journalist covering the arts and culture section of Bloomberg, using the name Lili Rosboch.
Much like her fiancé, Elisabetta studied in London at the Queen Mary University where she gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature and film.
