Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall are expected at the Edible Garden Show at the end of the month, to encourage healthy eating.The show will be held at Alexandra Palace over three days at the end of March, and the Prince and Camilla are expected on Friday 28 March.

A keen gardener, Prince Charles will meet young children from across the country who have been taking part in a national schools’ initiative to design a ‘dream edible garden’.Prince Charles has devoted many years to overseeing the gardens at Highgrove Gardens, and he runs his own competition for children, Mygrove, where young children share the fun of growing their own fruit and vegetables and can win a visit to The Prince’s sustainably run garden at Highgrove.Launched in response to the grow-your-own revolution, the Edible Garden Show has been running for four years, and this is its first year at Alexandra Palace.Prince Charles has been officially taking on more duties since January, when the Queen began to pass royal duties to younger members of the British royal family.

He recently joined the Zoological Society of London as a vice patron where the Queen has been royal patron since her coronation in 1953.As a long-time supporter of the charity, the Prince was just 13 years old when he first showed his enthusiasm by joining the ZSL's Exceptional Young Zoologist Club.A strong campaigner for wildlife and the countryside, Prince Charles’s Countryside Fund donated £50,000 from its emergency fund to help farmers and rural communities in Somerset after the recent devastating floods.
He called the devastation a “tragedy” and was greeted with warm cheers and as he toured the affected area back in February.Last week the Prince attended The Prince's Trust Awards, which was held at the Odeon in Leicester Square.Celebrating the achievements of young people who have triumphed in the face of extremely tough conditions, including homelessness and drug addiction, X Factor winner Sam Bailey took to the stage to perform on the night, while Phillip Schofield and Gok Wan were on hand to present awards to the youngsters.
