Many young ladies would like love to wed Prince Harry, but a new American reality show is taking the world’s love for the royal the extra mile. The Fox network is due to air the first episode for a programme titled I Wanna Marry ‘Harry’ in May, with lookalike Matthew Hicks, as the eligible bachelor hailing from England.
Although he might have red locks already, the reality star admittedly has been made over to resemble Harry more as 12 Americans compete to win his love. The quirky screen offering will entertain US audiences from May 27 but so far there has been no word from the real-life Prince’s girlfriend Cressida Bonas.
Matthew Hicks is hoping to find a wife by emulating Prince Harry
Perhaps the dancer will take the light-hearted show as flattery that she has got the man admired by women across the planet. The concept was brought in by the same executive who introduced 2003’s Joe Millionaire to the channel, however Mike Darnell eventually left last spring after the pitch according to Deadline, and his role has been filled by British Simon Andreae.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians producer Ryan Seacrest is also in on this production which seemingly aims to mislead contestants to believe Matthew is actually related to the Queen. “Will he be able to convince them he's regal, and if he does, will they fall for the crown or fall in love with the real him?” Fox asks potential viewers in order to get them to tune in.
Prince Harry hasn't even popped the question to Cressida Bonas yet
It’s no surprise there was a catch as Joe Millionaire led contestants to believe they were bidding to win the heart of an heir to millions. The deal was the lady who still loved him despite finding out that he wasn’t in the money walked with $1million in the bank.
