Kate shows no signs of pregnancy as she enjoys wine tasting with Prince William

April 13, 2014

Prince William and Kate seemed to quash rumours that the couple were expecting a second royal baby when they visited a winery in Queenstown, New Zealand.

All eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge as she arrived at the Amisfield vineyard on Sunday, with royal watchers keen to note whether Kate would drink a glass and participate in the wine-tasting activity.

Kate showed no signs that she was pregnant again as she sampled "six or seven" tastes of New Zealand wine, including a few tipples of Aurum Pinot Gris and Remarkable Dry Riesling.

The Duchess, 32, admitted that she "was really enjoying being able to drink again after having baby George" last July, who is now third-in-line to the throne.

Kate added that she wasn't a big drinker but did enjoy the odd glass now and then, while her husband William and his younger brother Prince Harry were the wine experts in the family.

As the vineyard is located in the central Otago region — dubbed as an up-and-coming area in terms of New Zealand's wine production — it was doubtful that Kate wouldn't want to get involved and try one of the country's greatest culinary exports.

Dressed in dark skinny jeans, a blue and white checked shirt and a navy double-breasted Zara jacket, Kate opted for a dressed-down look for her visit. Fashion watchers were quick to note that the thrifty royal had worn the same blazer just a few days ago on her trip to Auckland, which immediately sold out within hours after Kate was spotted wearing it.

The Duchess' outfit was her third change of the day and a contrasting look to the radiant Emillia Wickstead aquamarine dress she had worn earlier at a Palm Sunday service.

After William and Kate had sampled the wine with their hosts, the royal couple enjoyed a stroll around the grounds to learn more about the wine-making process. The first-time parents chatted easily with local producers and lapped up the sunshine after days of grey cloud and light rain.

Later on Sunday, William and Kate headed to the Shotover River where they experienced a ride on the infamous Shotover Jet — an adrenaline-fuelled boat trip through the river's canyons.
