Charlotte Casiraghi has made few public appearances since the birth of her son Raphäel in December. So royal fans were pleased to see the Monegasque royal as she stepped out on Wednesday in her role as the official face of Gucci Cosmetics.

Mum-of-one Charlotte cut a stylish figure in a grey-blue dress by the Italian fashion house as she celebrated the launch of its highly anticipated new make-up line.

Given that the glamorous event was being held in her honour, Charlotte made the long-haul flight from Monaco to one of New York's luxury establishments, The Carlyle Hotel.

Joining 27-year-old Charlotte at the exclusive cocktail party, which was hosted by Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini, were stars including Solange Knowles, Jessica Springsteen, Rachel Zoe and Jamie Tisch.

New mum Charlotte Casiraghi announced as Gucci brand ambassador Fresh from her Moroccan wedding, socialite and model Poppy Delevingne added a touch of English elegance to proceedings in a striking long-sleeved yellow dress.

Singer Elektra Kilbey of twin sister musical duo Say Lou Lou provided the soundtrack as the evening drew to a close and Charlotte's official advertisment for Gucci Cosmetics was revealed.

Charlotte and Frida have had a working relationship for many years now. They were brought together by their shared passion for horse riding when Frida designed an exclusive equestrian wardrobe for the royal in 2010 to compete in the Global Champions Tour show jumping event. Princess Caroline's daughter has since starred in the Italian fashion brand's Forever Now ad campaign series.

Their latest collaboration was announced in May and the campaign will run in September. "I have really enjoyed my relationship with Frida over these last four years and I am now excited to work with her again on this signature project," Charlotte said in a statement. "I have great admiration for her both as a designer and a strong and visionary woman." Frida was equally as thrilled about working with Charlotte again.

"Charlotte was a natural choice as she embodies the modern iconic Gucci woman," she said. "Aside from her striking beauty, she is sophisticated, successful and iconic. A wonderful ambassador for Gucci."
