Prince Harry photobombs New Zealand officials at Commonwealth Games

July 29, 2014

Just a week after the Queen photobombed a selfie of two Australian Hockeyroos players at the Glasgow 2014 Games, Prince Harry has tried to outdo his grandmother. Harry, 29, jokingly posed behind three New Zealand Commonwealth Games officials who were taking a photo.

The Prince, who was seated two rows behind the officials, gave two thumbs up and grinned widely behind unsuspecting New Zealand rugby sevens coach Sir Gordon Tietjens, Sport Manawatu chief executive Trevor Shailer and Massey University Professor Emeritus Gary Hermansson. Massey University then shared the fun snap on their Twitter account. "Royal photobomb alert! Prince Harry with our Prof. Emeritus Gary Hermansson at #Glasgow2014," read the caption.

It comes just a week after the Queen's fun picture went viral. Her Majesty approached the Hockeyroos from the other side of a wire fence as they were snapping a photo, and can be seen grinning from ear-to-ear in the shot. Jayde Taylor, who is pictured posing in the selfie with teammate Brooke Peris, didn't waste any time in tweeting the priceless photo.

The 29-year-old told her 2,300 followers: "Ahhh The Queen photo-bombed our selfie!! #royalty #sheevensmiled #amazing #Glasgow2014".

Jayde also ran into Harry on Monday and tried to get him to pose for a selfie, but the royal is said to have told her "he hates selfies" so he posed for a regular photo instead.
