With her impeccable taste and fashion hits, it's no wonder that the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, has been hailed as a royal style icon. One artist, Italian aleXsandro Palombo, has celebrated her trend-setting status by envisioning what Kate would look like as a character in the hit television show The Simpsons. The illustrator, however, didn't just sketch Kate in one of her stunning outfits, but in several.

The cartoons show the proud mum of Prince George rocking a variety of dresses she has worn out to high-profile events, from royal engagements to red carpet appearances. One image showed Kate donning her L.K. Bennett teal peplum suit, topped off with a natty James Lock pill box hat. The Duchess wore the outfit when she paid a visit to Leicester Cathedral in 2012, touring the country with her grandmother-in-law The Queen as part of Her Majesty's jubilee tour. Another cartoon portrayed dozens of "Simpsonised" Kates standing outside Buckingham Palace, flaunting different numbers.

The Duchess of Cambridge has sparked 'the Kate effect' with her stylish choices

In the foreground, one Kate is pictured in her show-stopping Roland Mouret cream gown that features a thigh-high split.

The Duchess was last seen wearing it when she attended the London film premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom with her husband Prince William in December 2013 – the same day that Nelson Mandela sadly passed away. Kate had also donned the flattering dress the year before, when she attended a black-tie dinner at Claridges with William. The Reading-born beauty wasn't the only royal who was immortalised as a Simpsons character by artist aleXsandro, who has no connection to the television show and whose creations are not actually scheduled to appear on screen. The Queen has also been drawn up as a Springfield resident, pictured with Kate outside Buckingham Palace, in the throne room and posing by the grand staircase.
