Prince Harry has received the support of the Wasps rugby team for his Invictus Games – an international sporting event for wounded servicemen and women. The royal, who set up the Paralympic-style event earlier this year, gamely donned the team's rugby shirt with the words "Invictus Games" emblazoned across his chest. In a show of thanks to captain James Haskell for his team's backing, Harry posed with the rugby star in a cool snap that was posted on Instagram.

"Great to catch up with HRH, and show him Wasps support for the amazing Invictus Games," James, 29, captioned the photo of the handsome pair in official gear. "Go, watch and support these truly inspiring games," he added. "We are wearing the kit for the London Double Header, this Saturday. "I have been trying to get him in a Wasps (@waspsrugby) shirt for years, finally found a way! He looks sharp. @invictuslondon #IAM #invictuslondon #rugby #TeamBodyfire #wasps #soldiers #heroes #doubleheader."

Harry, who played the sport at school and is vice patron of the Rugby Football Union, is pictured looking every inch one of the team in his white rugby shirt. Captain James followed up the photo with a video on Twitter, in which he explained his decision to support the Invictus Games and injured servicemen. "Wasps has always had a history of supporting our armed forces," said James. "We take to the field and every day we put boys on the line, but it's nothing compared to what the members of the armed services do."
The sporting event will see wounded personnel from different nations compete in nine sports over four days – 10 to 14 September – in different venues across London. The closing ceremony, the Jaguar Land Rover Invictus Games Closing Concert, will be headlined by the Foo Fighters and will also feature sets from Harry's good friend James Blunt as well as the Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Goulding, The Vamps, Rizzle Kicks, Diversity and Military Wives Choirs.
