It's a case of double baby joy for Princess Charlene of Monaco as she is expecting twins with Prince Albert.

Ever since the royal palace announced in May that Charlene was pregnant, rumours had surfaced that she would be welcoming two little bundles of joy at the end of the year. "I feel absolutely great," Charlene told HELLO! in an exclusive interview held in New York.

The former Olympic swimmer was on an official visit to the Big Apple, accompanied by her husband, to attend a string of charitable and high-profile events. One half of a philanthropic power couple, Charlene attended the Clinton Global Citizen Awards organised by Bill and Hillary Clinton and their daughter Chelsea, who gave birth to her first child just days after the conference. "She and the Princess had a chance to have a meaningful conversation about philanthropy," revealed a source, "and Chelsea was also happy to chat with the princess about their impending motherhood."

During the meeting Charlene was also able to talk to Hillary about her Princess Charlene Foundation, which targets swimming and water safety for children around the world. From day one on her New York visit, the heavily pregnant royal was on a tight schedule, throwing her support behind other drives such as her work on autism and the Princess Grace Foundation. While Albert took part in the United Nations Climate Summit on behalf of his namesake foundation, Charlene undertook her own solo engagement, attending the 7th Annual World Focus on Autism co-hosted by Suzanne and Bob Wright of Autism Speaks.

Arriving as a guest of Ban Soon-Taek, the wife of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Charlene looked thrilled to participate, seen tenderly touching her bump as she mingled with fellow attendees. "I am so happy to have been able to support all the causes that are important to me during this wonderful trip," she later told HELLO!.
