Princesses Mary and Marie step into new Danish parliamentary season in true sartorial style

Princess Mary of Denmark was the picture of elegance as she stepped out in Copenhagen on Tuesday for the opening of the Danish parliament. The Tasmania-born princess wore a chic blush pink coat and added a pop of colour to the outfit with a pair of striking violet high heels and a matching hat.A small clutch and a bouquet of flowers completed the glamorous royal's look.

Her husband, Prince Frederik, remained close to the 42-year-old as the royal couple entered the parliament. The Crown Prince of Denmark smiled as he chatted happily to his wife, looking handsome in a navy blue suit, light blue shirt and striped tie. Princess Mary's sister-in-law, France-born Princess Marie, also stepped into the new Danish parliamentary season in style.

Prince Joachim's wife was as stylish as ever in a dark blue two-piece skirt suit for the event, which takes place at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen. A matching hat, violet-coloured scarf and clutch were the final touches to her outfit.

Two of Europe's most elegant princesses were seen greeting each other fondly with a kiss upon arrival. They were naturally joined by their mother-in-law, Queen Margrethe II, and her husband, Prince Consort Henrik. The Danish queen was glamorous in a powder blue outfit and matching hat.
