October 17, 2014

The irony wasn't lost on Prince Harry when the royal found himself sat with male attendees at the fundraising gala dinner held by 100 Women in Hedge Funds."I am not entirely sure who made the seating plan but I am sitting between two men," said the cheeky royal as he addressed the group of 200 professional women at the Royal Hospital Chelsea in West London. "I thought it would just be 100 women and myself."

Prince Harry was guest of honour at a fundraising gala dinner held by 100 Women in Hedge Funds

Harry was the special guest at the dinner, which raised funds for children's charity WellChild - of which he is patron. The tuxedo-clad royal said: "There are few organisations which share WellChild's hunger and determination to do better; my support and admiration for this important charity grows stronger with every inspirational young person, parent and carer that I am lucky enough to meet. "I hope you are all very proud of the support you have given to WellChild, it really does change lives.

It was attended by 200 professional women, but the Prince found himself seated between two men "But may I ask one more thing of you - when you leave here tonight, please continue to spread the word far and wide about this fantastic organisation. "This work is invaluable to the people they care for and their families."

"I don't know who did the seating plan," quipped the royal joker. "I thought it would just be 100 women and myself."

Harry also commented on the dinner's "rather wonderful Harry Potter-esque location", but told diners: "there will be no Quiddich." The fourth-in-line to the throne's glam evening took place a month after he attended the WellChild awards. On 22 September the organisation celebrated its tenth annual awards to recognise the courage of children and young people living with serious illnesses, as well as the dedicated families, nurses and doctors who care for them.
