Tom Parker Bowles has shared a touching portrayal of his mother, the Duchess of Cornwall. Sitting down with BBC Five Live, Tom spoke with warmth and admiration about Camilla, as he opened up about family life, and explained how he has learnt to deal with criticism of his mum.
"She's a brilliant grandmother," he said of the Duchess, who is affectionately known as 'Gaga' by her five grandchildren. "I mean, she works incredibly hard.
"She'd be the first to say that she didn't really have a job apart from being out mother, which she was very good at, and suddenly age 55 she is working."
Food critic Tom, 39, also spoke of his admiration for his mother, who married Prince Charles in April 2005. "My mother has been called every name under the sun," he said of the 67-year-old Duchess, who he described as "tough" for dealing with the criticism she has had to face.
He also revealed that the family, including sister Laura Lopes, have learnt to ignore any nasty comments made about the royal couple. "There's absolutely nothing anyone can say about my mother or myself or my stepfather that we haven't heard before," he said.
"My mum's got an iPad now, and I was like, 'Don't read the below-the-line stuff', and of course she's,'You're not going to believe what they just said here! Check this out!'" he added.
