The talk was all about babies when the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, met Hillary and Chelsea Clinton during her USA tour. On Monday evening, the pregnant royal accompanied Prince William to a reception at the British Consulate where they got a chance to congratulate the former First Daughter on the birth of her baby Charlotte five months ago.
Chelsea and her husband Marc Mezvinsky returned the favour, asking how the pregnancy was going. Kate clearly felt well as was seen by her glowing smile at the soiree, which focused on wildlife conservation – one of her husband's main interests. The brunette, who was elegant in a grey coat by US designer Tory Burch, skinny jeans and heels, hadn't even been expected to attend because aides had built in rest periods for her during the two-day official tour. As a doting grandmother Hillary Clinton was keen to share her experience with little ones, talking about the benefits of singing to babies. The American politician admitted that when her own daughter was small she sung to her until one day Chelsea said: "No sing, no sing".

Earlier in the day, William was in Washington meeting President Obama who also spoke to him about the new royal baby, due next year.
The future King joked that he was so excited when Prince George was born he "forgot" to ask whether he was a boy or girl.
"Last time, I remember when George was born, I forgot to work out whether it was a boy or a girl," he revealed. "The excitement of the event and everything else was just chaos. You are suddenly... well actually it's a boy. So now, it's good."
"It's going to be interesting next year. A busy year next year," he added.
