Rumours have begun to swirl that Prince Harry is dating Emma Watson. Australian magazine Woman's Day has reported that the duo have been getting on well after going on several secret dates together – although many have dismissed the news as pure speculation. The publication claims that following Emma's split from Oxford University student Matt Janney, Harry asked his friends to help him invite Emma along to a party he was hosting.

"Harry didn't want her to feel like she was put on the spot," an insider reportedly told Woman's Day. "A party also shows he's fun and not stuffy." While Emma has never officially been seen with Prince Harry at a public engagement, she rubbed shoulders with his brother Prince William at a star-studded dinner held at Windsor Castle to celebrate the work of The Royal Marsden hospital.

An actress like Harry's ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas, Emma is undoubtedly accomplished. The 24-year-old graduated with an English literature degree from Ivy League institution Brown University in May 2014 and has since gone on to help launch the UN Women campaign HeForShe. Emma, who is as busy with her many projects as Harry is with his numerous royal duties, has received high praise for her work as part of the campaign – most notably for her rousing speech at the United Nations' headquarters in New York.

Rumours that Emma and Harry are an item have been met with much scepticism, however. Many of the actress's fans have noted that it would be amusing if Emma is dating someone named Harry, despite her Harry Potter character Hermione Granger falling for Ron Weasley in J K Rowling's famous series. Others have joked that while Prince Harry may share the same name as Harry Potter, his red hair means he bears some likeness to Ron. While if it were true that Emma and Harry have been seeing each other, the actress and activist has previously said that she would prefer not to be in a relationship with someone famous.
