William and Kate hiring new housekeeper

March 14, 2015

William and Kate are expanding the team of staff at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have placed an advert in The Lady, the British magazine famous for its classified advertisements for domestic service and child care, seeking a "loyal and discreet" housekeeper. "Housekeeper sought for a large family home in Norfolk," reads the advertisement. "We are looking for someone with previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a large private house, and preferably within a family environment with dogs.

"Main duties will include: cleaning all areas of the house to a high standard; caring for and maintaining the home owners' clothing; cleaning silverware and glassware; purchasing groceries and general provisions for the house; and dealing with deliveries." It seems that caring for the couple's son Prince George, who is soon to gain a little brother or sister, and their dog Lupo will also be part of the new housekeeper's job. "On occasions, the role will also involve the preparation of meals, assisting with childcare and caring for dogs."

Understandably the Duke and Duchess are looking for a strictly professional and attentive new member of staff, stating: "Discretion and loyalty is paramount and a current valid UK driving licence is essential." The new recruit will also be offered housing as the advert concludes: "Self-contained accommodation will be provided (suitable for a couple). The partner may be offered ad hoc maintenance work, although there is no guaranteed work provided for them." Prince William and Duchess Kate have decided to base themselves at Anmer Hall, rather than their London abode at Kensington Palace, for the time being.

Having successfully passed his exams, Prince William will begin work as an air ambulance pilot with the nearby East Anglia Air Service in the summer. The service operates two helicopters out of Cambridge and Norwich airports which are both within 50 miles of Anmer Hall.
