Princess Charlene and Prince Albert relocate to nearby villa for palace renovations

Doting parents Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco are putting the needs of their newborn twins first. As renovations take place at the Prince's Palace of Monaco, the royal couple have temporarily relocated to a nearby villa – complete with a garden fit for a prince and princess.Little Jacques and Gabriella, who were born on 10 December 2014, will enjoy their first spring surrounded by nature in a house on the outskirts of Monaco.

According to Paris Match magazine, it "wasn't easy" for Charlene and her children to find some fresh air amid the construction work at the Palace. As renovations are also said to be taking place at the couple's countryside residence Roc Angel, where Charlene stayed during the months after she gave birth, the royals decided to look for accommodation elsewhere.The source also said that Jacques and Gabriella have coped well with the move, saying: "The babies are fine, healthy and almost sleeping through the whole night."

Renovations are taking place at the Prince's Palace in Monaco

Monaco's royal palace has undergone many changes since its construction in 1191 and is now being adapted for its youngest royal residents.It is hoped that the changes will be completed in time for the three-month-old youngsters' baptism on 10 May as well as the celebrations honouring Albert's ten-year anniversary as Monaco's monarch. Albert ascended the Principality's throne on 6 April 2005, at the age of 47.

Jacques and Gabriella will be baptised on 10 May

Details about the royal christening were released at the beginning of the month. Baby Jacques, Hereditary Prince of Monaco and his older sister Princess Gabriella will be baptised in the Cathedral of Monaco on Sunday 10 May – when they will be exactly five months old.Following the ceremony, which will also be televised, well-wishers will be able to line the streets and cheer the family on as they make their way back to the palace.
