Prince William thinks Prince George will support Harlequins says Mike Tindall

Prince George will probably grow up supporting Harlequins rugby union team, according to Mike Tindall. The former England rugby player, who used to play for Gloucester, has revealed that Prince William is hoping his son will be a fan of the London club. "I bought Prince George a Gloucester shirt when he was born but William thinks he will be a Harlequins fan," Mike told the Sun. "We'll have to see about that."

Mike, who is married to William's cousin Zara Tindall, went on to say that he might try and sway George to support his former team. "If he's up in the neighbourhood I will drag him along to a Gloucester game," he told the newspaper.Mike's comments come hot on the heels of William saying that he hopes George takes after him in supporting Aston Villa Football Club."If he supports Villa, it'd be fantastic," the Duke told Gary Lineker during an interview ahead of the FA Cup Final. "[Although] It'll probably end up being that Charlotte is the Villa fan, and George will go and support someone else!"

The Prince also said he hopes to take George to the football – although it may be a bit too early at the moment."I'd love to go to the odd match with him in the future," he said, later adding the youngster's mother the Duchess of Cambridge might "I don't know, I’ll have to pass that by the missus, see how I can get away with it!" he laughed. "At the moment, being only 22 months, it's a little bit early."

Prince William recently said he hopes George supports Aston Villa

William, who is president of the Football Association, also spoke about how he came to support Aston Villa while he was at school. "I was looking round for clubs to support and all my friends at school were either Man U fans or Chelsea fans," he revealed. "I didn't really want to follow the run of the mill teams, and I wanted to have a team that was more middle of the table, that could give me the more emotional rollercoaster moments – to be honest, now looking back, that was a bad idea. I could have had an easier time!!"
