On June 15, Princess Amalia of Luxembourg will celebrate her first birthday, and to mark the special occasion, a new set of portraits have been released. Featuring the young princess and her parents, Prince Félix and Princess Claire, the pictures show how much little Amalia has grown.

Prince Félix and Princess Claire are the picture of happiness in the new family portraits

In one snap, Amalia can be seen looking into the camera lens, while her mother, Claire, places a tender kiss on her cheek.

Both Claire and Félix are dressed casually - Claire in a nearly all-black ensemble and Felix in a blue shirt and jeans - while Amalia wears white tights and a pretty floral dress. A little bow clip makes for a sweet additional girly accessory.

Proud father Félix, 30, can't stop smiling as his family pose for the cameras - and in one of the images, little Amalia gazes up her father.

The royal couple married in September 2013before welcoming their baby girl nine months later.

Felix's parents Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa announced the happy news in a statement released by the Grand Ducal Palace: "The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess are very happy to announce the birth of the first child of their royal highnesses Prince Félix and Princess Claire.

"The baby was born on 15 June 2014 at the Grand-Duchesse Charlotte Maternity Wing at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg."

Félix and Claire paid tribute to their respective mothers, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa and Gabriele Lademacher, with their daughter's middle names and the little girl was christened less than a month after her birth.

Félix's younger sister Princess Alexandra, 23, was chosen as the godmother while Claire's older brother, also called Felix, was named as the godfather.

The star of the show though, baby Amalia seemed oblivious to the excitement she was causing as she slept peacefully for most of the intimate affair.
