Prince George beams on baby sister Charlotte's big day

July 9, 2015

Prince William and Kate, members of the British royal family and the Middletons were all thrilled to celebrate newborn Princess Charlotte's christening last week – but it was the second youngest member of the group, Prince George, who wore the biggest smile on the day.

With his sunny disposition and gorgeous smile, young George was the picture of cuteness. The third-in-line to the throne melted hearts around the world, dressed in his little red shorts by Rachel Riley and matching smocked white shirt.

In one photo, George and his dad William shared a particularly sweet moment in the gardens of Sandringham House. In the arms of his father, the fair-haired boy giggled at the camera while William gazed fondly at his first-born.

Another touching image focused on the mother-daughter duo, with Kate pictured gazing down at baby Charlotte. It was hard not to notice the pure joy in Kate's face as she cradled her adorable two-month-old.

Photographer-to-the stars Mario Testino, who shot William and Kate's engagement photos in 2010, was in charge of capturing the special moments on the day. Then Peruvian talent took to Instagram to share a few of the christening photos, while also posting a heart-warming message for the Duke and Duchess.

"I am overwhelmed and honoured to be chosen to take these portraits on the occasion of Princess Charlotte's christening, to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much," he wrote.

The photos were taken in the gardens and Drawing Room at Sandringham House immediately following Charlotte's baptism at the Church of St Mary Magdalene, the same venue where William's late mother Princess Diana was baptised.
