Prince Andrew shares throwback photo of Princess Beatrice ahead of her birthday

August 6, 2015

Prince Andrew was in a reflective mood on Thursday ahead of his daughter Princess Beatrice's birthday. The Duke of York posted a sweet throwback photo of his eldest daughter as a baby on Twitter, two days before she turns 27.

The black and white image shows a two-week-old Beatrice nestled in between her proud parents - Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

"#TBT Two week old @yorkiebea in 1988. HRH will celebrate her 27th birthday on Saturday #HappyBirthdayHRH," the tweet read.

It is not yet known how Beatrice plans to mark her special day, but she will have to go to great lengths to beat the belated Disney-themed party her younger sister Princess Eugenie hosted for her 25th birthday in June.

The bash was hosted at Andrews official residence, the Royal Lodge in Windsor, and saw guests including Prince Harry, Guy Pelly and Donna Air gather in costume to celebrate Eugenie's birthday.

Beatrice temporarily relocated to America earlier this year to take a finance course following the departure from her job with Sony Pictures in December. Since her return to the UK Beatrice has made high profile appearances at Royal Ascot and at charity events, as well as enjoying a number of holidays with her boyfriend Dave Clark.

One of the royal's most recent outings included joining her mother Sarah, Duchess of York and her handsome friend Manuel Fernandez for a day out at a motor race meeting in Battersea at the end of June.

It has since been revealed that Sarah has moved out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor to live as an "independent unit" in the ski chalet she co-owns with Prince Andrew in Verbier, Switzerland.

"She will be spending the majority of her time in Switzerland," James Henderson, Sarah's spokesperson confirmed, adding that she will keep a base in London and return to the Royal Lodge for family occasions.

Prince Andrew's throwback tweet is not the first time he has publicly wished one of his daughters a happy birthday. The father-of-two went to extra lengths to wish Eugenie a happy birthday in March, leading an audience of 400 at St James's Palace in a singalong, which he transmitted to the birthday girl via iPad.
