Duchess Kate continues return at Rugby World Cup

September 18, 2015

In her second engagement of the week, the Duchess of Cambridge will join Prince William and Prince Harry as they preside over the opening ceremony of the Rugby World cup on Friday evening. The Duchess née Kate Middleton, is slowly easing herself back into public life after spending the summer looking after new baby Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Kate, William and Harry will cheer England on

With a new hairstyle and wearing a £1,245 Ralph Lauren dress, the mother of two made an elegant return to work on Thursday. Kate looked on good form when she visited the Anna Freud Centre in London to support their work on mental health in children. It's a cause close to heart and indicative of the direction in which she wants to focus her interests, say aides.

On Friday, the royal trio will be at Twickenham along with Prime Minister David Cameron and thousands of fans. Following the opening ceremony hosts England will take on Fiji.

The Duchess has kept a low profile since giving birth on 2 May. The 33-year-old has been at the Cambridges' country retreat Anmer Hall.

She and her husband did attend the America's Cup World Series in Portsmouth in July, where Kate appeared in high spirits despite the race being called off. Then the Cambridges travelled to Balmoral to help the Queen celebrate her achievement in becoming Britain's longest reigning monarch.

It is thought that the Queen has giving her grandson's wife a special honour in recognition of all she has contributed to the royal family thus far. Kate is thought to have been awarded the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II – a personal gift of the monarch.
