Prince William has revealed he would always turn to his family in times of difficulty. The father-of-two shared a list of the five people he would look to first for support during an official engagement at Hammersmith Academy on Monday.
As one might expect, William's wife the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, made the list, along with his brother Prince Harry, with whom he has a close relationship. The 33-year-old also listed his father Prince Charles and grandparents the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh as his support network, with one surprising name rounding off William's list – his pet dog, Lupo.
William made the revelation during an engagement in London to highlight the problem of cyber-bullying and LGBT bullying in Britain's schools. The visit was in support of the #Back2School Anti-bullying campaign set up by The Diana Award – a legacy to William's mother Princess Diana's belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better.
As well as taking part in the "high five" exercise, William also met ambassadors from the Anti-Bullying Project including Sinitta and actor Will Poulter, who said he was "honoured" to be supporting the campaign.
William's visit relates to an issue that both he and Kate have been championing; the emotional and mental health of children and young people. New mum Kate returned to royal duties after a brief maternity leave on Thursday with a visit to the Anna Freud Centre, which promotes mental health in children.
The Duchess is a patron of various children's charities and had previously urged members of the public to focus on the issue of mental health – particularly for children and young people.
William's engagement comes just days after he and Kate enjoyed a rare night out without their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte to attend the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup. The royal couple appeared in high spirits as they cheered England on to victory along with Prince Harry.
