Kate and William's wedding menu sells for over £800

A menu card from Kate and William’s wedding has sold for more than £800 at auction. The royal item was sold at Nate D. Sanders Auction in L.A on Thursday.The dinner menu is printed on thick ivory cardstock. It features a green floral border trimmed in gold. At the top of the menu card is Prince Charles’ heraldic badge of three white ostrich feathers emerging from a gold crown.

The wedding breakfast was held inside Buckingham Palace for the Duke and Duchess’ closest family and friends, including William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth, his best man and brother Prince Harry and Kate’s sister and bridesmaid Pippa Middleton.The first dish of the three course dinner, served to more than 300 guests, consisted of marinated South Uist salmon, Lyme Bat Crab langoustines and a fresh herb salad. Guests then enjoyed organic lamb, spring vegetables, asparagus, potatoes, and sauce Windsor, for the main course which was served with a 2004 L’Hospitalet de Gazin, Pomerol wine. To finish the luxurious dinner the invitees were treated to honey ice-cream, sherry trifle and chocolate parfait.

The wedding between Prince William and his university girlfriend Kate Middleton was a lavish affair with no expense spared. The bride wore a custom Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown and the newlyweds were serenaded by Ellie Goulding whilst enjoying an impressive fireworks display during their wedding reception.William and Kate celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary this past April with a trip to Buckingham Palace with Prince George, 2, despite the Duchess being a few days past her due date with baby number two, little Princess Charlotte.
