Prince William and Harry enjoy Rugby World Cup final with grandfather Prince Philip

Prince William and Harry were joined by their grandfather Prince Philip on Saturday to watch the Rugby World Cup final. The trio attended the game at Twickenham stadium to see Australia take on New Zealand for the Webb Ellis cup.The royals were in high spirits chatting and laughing throughout the game. Bearded Harry looked dapper in a smart navy suit, white shirt and dark blue tie. Both he and his brother sported poppies on their lapels showing their support for the Royal British Legion.Following a nail biting 90 minutes Prince George’s uncle took to the rugby field to award New Zealand with the World Cup trophy, after their beat their opponents 34-17 and retained the title from their World Cup win in 2011.

Despite the England team being knocked out in the group stages of the competition Harry has been to watch many matches throughout the championship.He attended several games with his brother and his sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, despite them having a fierce rivalry and supporting different teams. As the future Prince of the country Princess Charlotte’s father supports Wales, while his younger brother backs England.Earlier this month the fifth-in-line to the throne also joined his grandmother the Queen at Buckingham Palace to host a reception of rugby stars from different competing nations.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the World Cup the Prince said that he hoped the tournament would be one of "the most competitive and entertaining World Cups ever. "He also spoke about how he hoped the contest would inspire the next generation. Thanking the players and supporters he said: "You are helping inspire children of all backgrounds to get involved with the game we all love."
