Like the energetic youngster she is, Princess Josephine of Denmark was in high spirits at a family gathering over the weekend. The lively four-year-old was the centre of attention the Danish royals stepped out for the annual Hubertus Hunt in Copenhagen on Sunday.

Josephine, the daughter of Princess Mary and future the country's future monarch Prince Frederik, seemed to have limitless bounds of energy and kept well-wishers entertained by pulling funny faces and waving to crowds from the balcony.

Standing in front of her mum and next to her twin brother Prince Vincent to take in the action, Josephine held her hands up to her face to mimic the shape of glasses .

She looked to be having a whale of a time with her older siblings, enjoying the day with Vincent, eight-year-old Princess Isabella and ten-year-old Prince Christian. Josephine and her big brother Christian were snapped in a particularly sweet moment, about to go in for a hug.

During the family day out, the royals joined thousands of spectators watching the annual hunt, which actually doesn't involve any hunting. Instead, two front runners have fox tails attached to their jackets and are followed by around 90 horse riders in smart red uniforms.

Josephine has fully recovered from a riding accident earlier this year

Josephine seems to be fully recovered, after having suffered a riding accident earlier this year. According to various local reports, the little girl fell during a riding lesson at Grasten Castle over the summer and broke her arm.

She was spotted emerging from hospital with a cast, and again wearing it a week later as she joined her family at an equestrian parade. The animated princess was pictured smelling a daisy while also waving and beaming to the riders as they filed out in a procession.
