Princess Estelle of Sweden gives a thumbs up to the cold weather

November 23, 2015

Princess Estelle of Sweden didn't let the cold weather dampen her spirits during a recent day out. The three-year-old, whose parents are Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, gave a cheerful thumbs up to the camera in new photos taken while she played in the park outside Haga Castle, the family's home.

In an image shared on the official Swedish Palace's Facebook account, Estelle can be seen grinning animatedly while bundled up against the autumn chill.

Other images shared by the royal family show Estelle feeding ducks in the park and picking up leaves that have fallen on the ground.

It is the first glimpse of Estelle, who is titled the Duchess of Ӧstergötland, since she joined her parents at the christening of her cousin Prince Nicolas in October. The little princess has plenty of reason to smile as she is also set to have a baby brother or sister to play with in the coming months.

Estelle's parents Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel have announced that they are expecting their second child together in March 2016, with the future queen showing off her blossoming baby bump on a number of recent royal engagements.

The 38-year-old has not revealed the gender of the new baby, and when asked if her daughter Estelle was longing for a brother or sister, she quipped: "What she really wants is a hamster!"

There is currently a mini baby boom in the Swedish royal family as Victoria's brother Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia announced in October that they too are expecting a child in 2016.
