Prince Albert has given his verdict of Princess Charlene's new crop

"It was the end of summer and she was doing a lot of activities with the kids," he explained. "It's more like she walked into the room and said, 'What do you think?'"Mum-of-two Charlene, 37, has favoured shorter hair in recent years, but her new style is one of the most dramatic to date. The South African beauty unveiled her new look at the Monte Carlo Casino this month, as she met with Russian boxer Ruslan Provodnikov. The sportsman shared a photo of himself with the princess on Instagram, describing the meeting as an 'honour'.

Charlene and Albert at the Monaco National Day celebrations with their twins

Charlene's new hair was kept under wraps on Thursday, however, as she joined her husband for Monaco's National Day celebrations. Albert and Charlene, wearing a purple dress and matching hat, delighted the crowds by appearing with their 11-month-old twins, Jacques and Gabriella, on the balcony of the royal palace. The outing was the first time that the twins have officially been seen in public since August, and came just a month before they celebrate their first birthday on 10 December. "They are beginning to take their first steps and trying to say little bits of words," proud father Albert recently told Monaco Matin."They really want to express themselves and I speak to then in French. In everyday life, they are very playful and curious."
