Prince George and his cousins light up Buckingham Palace Christmas party

December 16, 2015

The royal family's little scene stealers are at it again, lighting up the Buckingham Palace Christmas party on Wednesday. Prince George and his cousins have been spotted arriving for the Queen's annual gathering, which traditionally kicks off the Windsor festive season.

His Royal Cuteness could be seen sitting in the back of chauffeur driven car, instantly recognisable with his mop of blond curls and wearing a white shirt with a blue trim. He was accompanied by mother the Duchess of Cambridge and his uncle Prince Harry. The Duchess, née Kate Middleton, was suitably festive in a bright red dress.

Prince William may have been absent due to his work as East Anglia Ambulance pilot. Not that his absence will put a dampener on the festivities. He has revealed that his toddler son is bursting with excitement about the prospect of all the presents.

In an interview with the Big Issue about the family's festive plans, the devoted father joked: "George will be bouncing around like a rabbit. If I get any sleep in Christmas Eve it will be good."

The toddler looked very earnest, sucking on one finger as the trio were driven through the gates of Nanny's – as George is thought to call the Queen. However, that was sure to change once inside and he saw the big Christmas tree, featuring crown decorations, which was put up earlier this week.

William has described George as "very noisy" and his boisterous behaviour is often seen at public engagements. Good job then that supernanny Maria Theresa Borrallo was on hand to help out with the energetic little boy.

Princess Charlotte was nowhere to be seen, presumably having been left in the care of Kate's mum Carole. However, there are plenty of other playmates on hand. Zara and Mike Tindall were seen driving up with their daughter Mia Tindall. Her sister-in-law Autumn Phillips is attending with at least one of her daughters.

Also seen joining the fun were Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, Princess Eugenie and Princess Anne's husband Vice Admiral Tim Laurence, who arrived on foot.

The Queen's annual pre-Christmas lunch allows her to catch up with relations, who are able to attend the festivities at her Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on the 25th.
