Kate's first ever interview as a royal to feature in a special programme about the Queen

February 1, 2016

This year is shaping up to be a very exciting one for royal fans, who are looking forward to the Queen turning 90. Celebrations already announced include a service of thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral and a mass street party called the Patron's Lunch - which will be held in June on the Mall for a whopping 10,000 guests.

Furthermore, ITV announced on Monday that the Queen's 90th birthday will be celebrated with a new landmark programme on her life and reign in which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, neé Kate Middleton, and Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will make a very special contribution.

Prince William and Kate will feature in the special programme The Queen at Ninety

The film, to be shown this spring and titled The Queen At Ninety (working title), is a two hours long film featuring interviews from many key figures in Her Majesty's life, including her son Prince Charles, his wife Camilla and Prince William and Kate. This will be Kate's first ever interview as a royal.

The producers of the programme, Oxford Film and Television, have been granted close access to the work of Her Majesty and other key royals across the UK and overseas during the last year. In addition, leading national and international figures will feature as well as material from the most comprehensive international film archives.
