Prince Charles became even more popular when he offered to buy a round of drinks for a whole pub in Yorkshire on Thursday. The Prince, who was accompanied by his wife the Duchess of Cornwall, stopped by The New Inn in Stamford Bridge village where he made the suggestion.
The pub was just one of the properties that was hit by the floods over Christmas, and during their visit up north, Charles and Camilla checked in on the locals.
The couple were welcomed by landlady Helen Ambler who showed them around the pub and explained the damage that the torrential rain had caused.

Charles, 67, took a particular interest in the bar area, which has recently been restored. The future King, who asked about the renovation work and if the landlady had insurance, added that it was a shame he couldn't stop for a tipple.
"He offered to buy the whole pub a drink," Helen told reporters. "He asked if the next time he's passing, could he pop in."

Helen went on to describe how she woke at eight in the morning on Boxing Day to find water seeping into the building. She surrounded the pub with sandbags but to no effect.
"By 10am there was a good foot-and-a-half and by 1pm there was three feet of water," she said. "It came up so quickly. And then it was just coming through the floor. It wasn't the actual river water, it was the drains and the sewage coming up. It was awful. It wasn't pleasant but we got through it."
"It's nice to be recognised that we've had a problem," she added. "A lot of the emphasis has been on York but we did have it quite bad and it was very good to meet them."

Charles and Camilla then headed to cookery school Taylors of Harrogate, where they tried their hand at piping Easter Eggs and making pastry. The royal couple were also presented with beautifully decorated Eggs for the youngest members of their family, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The royals are on the second day of their tour of Yorkshire. On Wednesday the Queen's son visited Redcar town to hear about the closure of their local steel plant.

Apart from meeting a group of steelworkers who had lost their jobs, Charles was introduced to his biggest fan – six-year-old Benjamin Cooper, who likes to dress like the royal.
Speaking about the Prince, Benjamin admitted: "I like him because he was the smartest dressed when we studied the royal family at school. I like to dress smart so I can be like Charles."
