New photos of the Swedish royal family stamps have been released and Princess Estelle takes centre stage. The adorable youngster poses with her mum Crown Princess Victoria, who is first-in-line to the throne, and her grandfather King Carl XVI Gustaf, who is Sweden's current monarch.

While the special-edition stamps will not be circulated until mid-March, the photos were released ahead of time to celebrate Estelle's fourth birthday, which took place on Tuesday.

They also mark King Carl's upcoming 70th birthday, which is in April.

The new special-edition stamp shows Sweden's order of succession

The main stamp shows Sweden's order of succession. Estelle, wearing a shimmery champagne-coloured dress, gives her winning smile to the camera while her mum and grandfather stand behind her.

Victoria, who is due to give birth to her second child with husband Prince Daniel in a matter of weeks, is the picture of elegance in a white peplum suit.

Another of the stamps shows King Carl standing solo; his wife Queen Silvia also features in her own stamp. In June, Silvia will mark 40 years as Sweden's queen, having married her Prince Charming in June 1976.

The last time King Carl, Princess Victoria and Princess Estelle all featured on one stamp together was in 2013, when Estelle was just a baby. Sitting on her mum's lap, the royal darling was pictured looking up at her grandfather.

The stamp was released to mark King Carl's Ruby Jubilee as Sweden's reigning monarch.

Similarly, when Victoria married Prince Daniel, the country's postal service released three special-edition stamps in honour of the couple's June 2010 wedding.

Artist Kristian Moller created the three stamps, one of which depicts the pair during the photocall when they announced their engagement. Another showed Princess Victoria wearing her Napoleonic cut-steel tiara.
