Crown Princess Mary of Denmark was the picture of elegance as she arrived at a gala dinner in Copenhagen on Tuesday night. While the mum-of-four courted attention with her stunning outfit, eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Mary was wearing one of her favourite necklaces – but this time as a tiara.
The 44-year-old topped off her look with the glittering piece, which she has previously worn at other royal engagements.
Mary donned the tiara almost a year ago at the pre-birthday celebrations of her mother-in-law Queen Margrethe, who was marking her 75th milestone, at Aarhus, Denmark.

At the time, Mary, who is married to Crown Prince Frederik, wore a classic black dress, leaving all attention to her elaborate statement necklace. On Tuesday however the princess decided to fashion the jewels into an exquisite tiara.
The Australia-born beauty was her usual radiant self, beaming from ear-to-ear as she arrived at Christiansborg Palace with her husband. Opting for a monochrome look, Mary wore a form-fitting dress that featured an elegant black sheer layer and cinched waist.

The photogenic couple were among the senior royals to attend the Art and Culture gala dinner hosted by Queen Margrethe.
Joining Mary and Frederik were Frederik's younger brother Prince Joachim and his French wife Princess Marie, who looked as equally stunning as her sister-in-law in a blue lace number. Host of the evening Margrethe, who turns 76 next month, lit up the affair in a bright red dress.

The gala dinner comes just weeks after Mary and her husband Frederik, 47, undertook an official visit to Qatar.
One of the highlights of their tour was a visit to Aspire Academy, a sports academy where Mary and Frederik impressed onlookers with their tricky football skills.
Despite her formal attire, Mary was happy to get stuck in, and at one point appeared to curtesy for the crowd as they laughed along with her.
