The Swedish royal palace has two new job vacancies – one for a property accountant and the other for a seamstress to the royal collections. Both job descriptions can be found on the palace's official website, as well as a note to send all applications in by the end of the month.

The royal court is seeking a seamstress, whose main duties will be to "manage the royal collections" and "keep the 11 royal palaces furnished".

About 250,000 objects, mostly textiles, furniture and decorative art, make up the royal collections and the new seamstress will have to register, document, inventory, conserve and preserve such items.

Garment alterations and curtain making are also among the basic tasks, and applicants with a knowledge of curtain installation are highly desirable.

The full-time position will be based at the studio next to the royal palace in Stockholm, although the seamstress may also work in other royal residences.

The applicant will be joining the department of care and preservation, which is made up of 15 conservationists, seamstresses, upholsterers and museum technicians.

A second vacancy in the finance department calls for a property accountant, who will look after customer billing, be liable for current accounts and financial statements and provide support to the royal court regarding financial matters.

An economics education to university level is necessary, as well as at least three years' experience in a finance department.

Prince Oscar, the latest arrival to the Swedish royal family

It's an exciting time for the Swedish royal family, who are looking to add to their staff. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, who will one day be queen, has just given birth to her and Prince Daniel's second child.

The couple welcomed their son Prince Oscar on 2 March and a few days later, the palace released the first official portrait of the baby sound asleep in his cot. "The first picture of Prince Oscar! The prince is photographed at Haga Castle, five days old," the Facebook post read.

Meanwhile, Victoria's sister-in-law Princess Sofia, who is married to Prince Carl Philip, is due to give birth to the couple's first child any day now. The former model is due in April, so she and her husband won't have to wait long before they meet their little girl or boy.
