Princess Leonore of Sweden is one very accomplished two-year-old. The little girl has carried out her first official engagement and to mark the occasion, Leonore travelled to her duchy, Gotland province.

The young royal was accompanied by her proud parents Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill, who were on hand to show little Leonore the ropes.

The trio arrived on Friday and kicked off the day with a visit to a horse farm. The number of horses on the island have declined dramatically since the nineties, but a few farmers still breed them.

Leonore had the chance to get up close and personal to one pony but didn't quite have the courage to pet the animal and instead let her mum Madeleine do the honours.

The princess, who looked adorable in a white and blue frock with a matching blue bow in her hair, was pictured sweetly running around the farm barefoot.

Leonore and her parents then enjoyed lunch at the Visby residence, where the little girl changed into an equally summery outfit, another blue and white dress.

The family visited the Gotland museum to view the new child-friendly exhibition. Madeleine, 33, had a go at striking a coin while Leonore watched in amazement.

Madeleine and her husband Chris, who also have an 11-month-old son Prince Nicolas, relocated their family to London last year for businessman Chris' job.

However the royals regularly visit Sweden for official duties and family gatherings such as King Carl XVI Gustaf's 70th birthday celebrations in April.

The family also made sure they were in Sweden to attend the christening of Madeleine's nephew Prince Oscar, who is third-in-line to the throne. The newborn was baptised at the royal palace's chapel, with Madeleine acting as one of the godmothers.
