Princess Astrid of Belgium was the victim of a robbery in Paris last week. The royal was stuck in traffic in the outskirts of the city when thieves smashed the passenger window of the car she was travelling in.
According to Le Parisien, robbers snatched the Princess's handbag that was next to her, which contained approximately £1,500 and her identity documents.
Astrid was travelling with her husband Prince Lorenz, Archduke of Austria-Este and one of the couple's three daughters.

Representatives for the Belgian royal palace confirmed the incident, although they declined to give more details or clarify which of the daughters was present.
The robbery took place on Thursday 2 June at the St. Denis exit of the A86 motorway near Aubervilliers, a Parisian suburb.
It is thought the thieves were riding a motorbike or scooter when they shattered the Princess' Mercedes car window and sped off. An investigation is being carried out by local police in Seine-Saint-Denis.

Princess Astrid is the only daughter of King Albert II and Queen Paola of Belgium. She is the younger sister of the reigning monarch King Philippe.
Last month Astrid, who has five children with her husband, became a grandmother for the first time. Her eldest child Prince Amedeo, 30, welcomed his first baby with his wife Princess Elisabetta.

The pair decided to name their daughter after her grandmothers, Anna Astrid. A palace spokesperson said: "Everyone is very happy. The little girl was named after her grandmother Anna on her mother's side, and her grandmother Astrid on her father's."
Amedeo and Elisabetta were in high spirits as they left the hospital a few weeks ago. Speaking to reporters, the Prince said: "It's something new for us. We're a little nervous but it's fantastic. It's a new life that begins."
