In 2011, Prince William and Kate became husband and wife in a ceremony watched by millions the world over.

The newlyweds delighted the thousands of royals fans gathered outside Buckingham Palace when they shared a loving kiss on the balcony.

During their royal tour of Canada later that year, Kate said of William: "I'm very, very lucky. He looks after me as much as possible."

The couple were pictured sweetly hugging after taking part in a dragon boat race in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

In a rare show of public affection, William and Kate celebrated Team GB's cycling win at the London Olympics in 2012. The couple were captured in the cutest embrace, and were also game enough to take part in the Mexican Wave.

"It's very emotional, it's such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like," said Kate as she presented the couple's first child to the world on 23 July 2013.

An elated William joked that "thankfully" little George, who had not yet been named, had his mother's good looks.

Nodding to his son's hair, William added: "He's got way more than me, thank God."

The pair also revealed that they had already been on nappy duty. "He's done the first one," said Kate, referring to her husband.

Kate collapsed in hysterics during a casual engagement of the couple's tour of New Zealand in 2014 – taking part in a "Rippa Rugby" tournament with the All Blacks.

The Duchess and her Prince swapped their more formal attire for jeans and trainers as they enjoyed some sporty fun at the Forsyth Barr stadium in Dunedin.

As the duo later left St Mary's hospital in Paddington, William showed his gentlemanly side and helped his wife down the steps. Kate had given birth just ten hours earlier to the couple's baby girl, Princess Charlotte, who was fast asleep and swaddled in a white blanket.

For William, Trooping the Colour in 2015 was very special. It was the first time that he was accompanied on the balcony by his son, who seemed fascinated by the RAF flypast.

The lovebirds showed off their playful sides during an official photoshoot in March 2016. Kate giggled as she successfully hit William in the chest with a snowball, while another picture showed the Prince attempting to prise a snowball from his wife's hand.

The Cambridges were enjoying their first family holiday in the Alps, and the mischievous shots were a welcome break from the formality of their photocall.

During their tour of India a month later, William and Kate set off on safari to see elephants, rhinos, bird species and water buffalo.

Just before their Jeep drove off to begin the open-air tour at Kaziranga National Park, Kate protectively squeezed her husband's thigh and said: "We're all safe."

Away from the media's gaze, William and Kate shared a rare moment of public affection, walking side-by-side. The couple were trekking to the Tiger's Nest during their tour of Bhutan in April 2016 and as they climbed up the mountain together, the Duke and Duchess sweetly supported one another.
