Prince George just celebrated his third birthday, and his dad joked that the little boy was "far too spoilt" after received a huge amount of birthday presents.

Prince William chatted about his son's birthday during a visit to Portsmouth for the America's Cup Series, and answered young prize winner Zak Kay, who designed the trophy for which Sir Ben Ainslie's British crew are competing for, when he asked the Prince what little Prince George received for his birthday.

Although the second-in-line to the throne remained tight-lipped about Prince George's gifts, saying: "What did he get for his birthday? I'm not telling," the 34-year-old did reveal he thought his son received far too many presents.

He said: "He got too many things. He's far too spoilt."

He also spoke a little about Prince George's interests, telling Zak that he's "not into boats yet."

His royal cuteness turned three on Friday, and Kensington Palace celebrated by releasing several photos of the little Prince on their Twitter account, in which Kate and Prince William thanked well-wishers. The caption read: "The Duke and Duchess thank everyone for all the lovely birthday messages they have received for Prince George."

In the photos, the third-in-line to the throne is playing in the grounds of his home Anmer Hall, in Norfolk, and show him playing on a large wooden swing, walking through the garden in an adorable striped jumper with an embroidered whale, and feeding the family dog, Lupo, some ice cream.

Matt Porteus, a professional photographer who took the photos, opened up about the photoshoot, saying: "I really enjoyed the opportunity to take these photographs of Prince George.

It was a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. I'm honoured that they have decided to share these images with the public to mark his third birthday."
