Princess Beatrice quits her job to start a brand new career

August 1, 2016

Princess Beatrice is ready for a challenge! The 27-year-old royal has decided to embark on a new career - as a business consultant. Beatrice recently left her position at the Manhattan investment firm Sandbridge Capital in order to branch out and pursue her "entrepreneurial ambition", according to the Daily Mail.

Sources close to the princess confirmed that she resigned from Sandbridge to form her own 'start-up', backed by her former company.  "She is creating a start-up consultancy backed by, and in association with, the group she worked with. She and some other people have set up a consultancy business under the auspices of Sandbridge Capital," a friend told the newspaper.

Denying reports that Beatrice had been let go, the insider added: "She was working, she resigned and is now concentrating her efforts on this startup. She wanted to be more entrepreneurial, so she has set up her own unit within the group, but as a separate unit."

Beatrice, the daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, has been criticised in the press for moving from job to job – according to her LinkedIn page, her position at Sandbridge was her fourth in five years since graduating from Goldsmiths, University of London in 2011.

But her friend came to her defence, saying that Beatrice is "a young girl making her own way in the world and finding her feet. She should be applauded for striking out on her own, not vilified".

Before joining Sandbridge - which focuses on lifestyle and fashion companies, including British brand Topshop - the princess worked as a research associate for her mother's charity Children in Crisis UK, as a private equity analyst in London, and as an international production analyst at Sony Pictures.
