Prince William and Kate choose 3 star hotel for romantic night away in Canada

September 24, 2016

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are spending just one evening away from their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, during their royal tour of Canada – and have chosen to stay in a modest, three-star hotel.

The pair are planning to spend the night stay in the Coast High Country Inn in the town of Whitehorse, which usually costs around £95 a night for a stay. The couple have been given the hotel's newly renovated Presidential suite with a Jacuzzi, which would usually cost £153 a night, and sources revealed that they are "delighted" with the accommodation.

They will be welcomed at the door by the hotel's trademark, 40-foot-tall wooden Mountie.

"I have stayed here multiple times a year over 7 years, my first choice in Whitehorse. Amazing staff, great restaurant, the Deck with a great atmosphere," another added.

Meanwhile, three-year-old Prince George and one-year-old Princess Charlotte will be cared for by their nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, who will accompanying the family on their trip as part of their 12-person entourage. They will be staying at the Government House in Victoria, which is the Queen's official residence in Canada.

The royal couple will have their hands full with around 30 engagements during their week-long stay, and have confirmed that the young siblings will be joining them for a children's birthday party on Thursday 29 September.

The party will see the two royal children interact with other children for a playdate at the Government House, where the family will be based throughout the tour.
