The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge received a warm welcome by locals in Whitehorse on Wednesday morning, where they were treated to a lively street party.

After a visit to the MacBride Museum of Yukon History, which the Queen and Prince Philip visited in 1959, the royal couple looked picture perfect as they watched the festival attended by hundreds.

Wrapped up warm in a striking red Carolina Herrera coat, Kate, 34, looked absolutely exquisite as she greeted several well-wishers.

She styled her attire further with a pair of purple block heels and a red suede clutch, while a pair of delicate pearl earrings set off the overall look.

Her glossy brunette tresses were worn in a chic chignon, while her pretty facial features were highlighted with subtle tones of makeup.

Following the festivities, the royal couple will take a trip around the picturesque town of Carcross, which is a small town of less than 300 people 70 kilometres from Whitehorse on the Klondike Highway.

They will have a traditional welcome from the Carcross/Tagish First Nation and will be given a tour of the recently completed buildings and public spaces there.

A short while later, William and Kate will then travel to the beautiful Montana Mountain, one of the world’s best destinations for mountain biking, where they will meet young locals who work there.
