They've both spent time in Africa working with children's charities
Prince Harry is no stranger to Lesotho in Southern Africa. The royal has visited the region numerous times over the past decade to see firsthand the work that his charity, Sentebale, is doing in support of local orphanages and health centres.
In February 2016, Meghan travelled to Rwanda with World Vision to learn about the importance of clean water in remote villages. While there, the actress collected water colour paintings done by local children and brought them back to Canada for display at a Toronto art gallery. Following the trip, World Vision named Meghan a Global Ambassador.
They both lend their star power to important causes
In 2013, both Harry and Meghan participated in BGC Partners Annual Charity Day in support of numerous global charities. But their affinity for giving back doesn't stop there.
Most recently, Prince Harry has teamed up with Prince William and Kate to advocate for mental health awareness worldwide. He also dedicates much of his time to ensuring the welfare of soldiers and war veterans.
Meghan is a UN Women's Advocate and in 2015 partnered with Dove to inspire young women to talk openly about self-esteem and body insecurities. Earlier this month, the 35-year-old joined Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the One Young World Summit in Ottawa, where she discussed gender inequality.
They both love sports
Harry is a regular at rugby events in the UK and couldn't get enough of the action at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
This summer, Meghan scored a seat in the royal box at Wimbledon and is a fan of the Toronto Raptors and Blue Jays.
They are both used to the spotlight
While Harry, 32, is an internationally known Prince, Meghan has found fame thanks to her starring role on Suits and her lifestyle blog The Tig.
The actress has also established some major clout on social media, racking up more than a million followers on Instagram and Twitter.
They both have famous friends
Meghan's star-studded crew includes Priyanka Chopra, Serena Williams, Olivia Palermo and Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty, not to mention fashion and beauty friends like Roland Mouret and Bobbi Brown.
Harry, on the other hand, counts Chris Martin, David Beckham, James Blunt and Joss Stone as some of his closest pals.
