The event was also attended by William's cousins Princess Beatrice, Lady Kitty Spencer (who is a Centrepoint ambassador) and musical guests Ellie Goulding, Craig David, Conor Maynard and Dirty Vegas. Musician Phil Collins, who had to pull out of the event because he is being treated for a septic toe, sent a personal video message to the Prince and his guests, promising to meet him at another time. "Your Royal Highness, I will meet you at a later date and I will look forward to that." Pop star Conor Maynard performed Phil's song Another Day in Paradise in his absence. William took the stage to offer a few remarks. The Prince joked about sparing the audience a performance at this year's gala. "Last time I was on this stage, I performed a duet with Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift. Craig (David) and Ellie (Goulding) will be spared that horror tonight. And I'm delighted to say that Jonathan Ross has decided to rap later." Photo: Frank Augstein PA Wire/PA Images
