Prince Harry attended the England vs South Africa rugby match in Twickenham on Saturday accompanied by Princess Charlene of Monaco. Before arriving at the match, the fifth-in-line to the throne visited the Rose and Poppy Gates to pay tribute to those who had lost their lives in WW1.

The Prince laid a commemorative poppy wreath at the gates while accompanied by England's Rugby President Peter Baines and former England rugby player Lewis Moody, and looked sombre for the occasion in a suit with a black tie and long coat, with a poppy pin.

Prince Harry then enjoyed a lively chat with the people who were involved in the Rose and Poppy film series which he contributed to, which tells the story of the players who laid down their lives as part of the Rugby Football Union's World War I commemorations.

Following his royal engagements, the Prince attended the England vs South Africa match and seemed to enjoy spending time with Princess Charlene.

It was originally speculated that he would bring his girlfriend Meghan Markle to the match for their first public outing together since he confirmed that they were in a relationship.

The 32-year-old released a statement about his relationship with the Suits actress earlier this week as he confronted the "outright sexism and racism" Meghan had been subjected to since they went public.

The statement read: "Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm.

"He knows commentators will say this is 'the price she has to pay' and that 'this is all part of the game'. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his."
