Kate on 'extremely chatty' Princess Charlotte and Prince George's love of dinosaurs

November 22, 2016

The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, has revealed that adorable Prince George is a big fan of dinosaurs. The 34-year-old was attending a children's tea party at the Natural History Museum on Tuesday when she explained that the T-Rex is her little boy's favourite because it is "the noisiest and scariest" of the Jurassic creatures.

The Duchess told ten-year-old Elizabeth that her eldest child "likes dinosaurs and volcanoes", adding that he is currently studying them at school. During the event she also revealed that daughter Princess Charlotte has become "extremely chatty" and "always wants to have a play date" with her big brother.

When it comes to dinosaurs, it seems that George isn't the only member of the royal family to have taken an interest. Asking the children if they were fans of the Jurassic Park films, Kate revealed that she thinks they are "brilliant" and that she had "really enjoyed" watching the film when she first saw it as a little girl.

The museum's director Sir Michael Dixon revealed he was impressed by the British beauty's general knowledge of dinosaurs, describing her as a "very supportive patron".

"George is very keen on dinosaurs - apparently he would have loved to come today," he said. "She did remark on the fact that as her children get older she is going to have to mug up on the names of dinosaurs."

Prince William's wife attended the tea party which was held to bid farewell to Dippy the Diplodocus, an enormous plaster-cast skeleton and one of the museum's most famous exhibits, which is set to go on a nationwide tour in January 2017.

Ever the style icon Kate turned heads in a chic LK Bennett dress as she joined pupils from Oakington Manor Primary School who marked the occasion by making dinosaur egg topped pencils. Joining in on the arts and crafts, the Duchess spent time chatting to the children and quizzing them on their dinosaur knowledge, before embarking on a 'mini fossil dig' and tucking into a Dippy-shaped farewell cake.
