Prince Harry raises excitement for Invictus Toronto with Grey Cup video

Fans watching the 104th Grey Cup final on Sunday were treated to a special appearance by Prince Harry prior to kickoff. While the the Queen's grandson was not in attendance at BMO Field (he's currently on tour in the Caribbean) he did take time to record a special message for football fans in advance of next year's Invictus Games in Toronto. 

"Hello Canada! I know you are all eagerly awaiting the kickoff for the 104th Grey Cup, but I just wanted to steal a moment of your time," says the 31-year-old, before highlighting the historically significant events of 2017, namely the 150th anniversary of confederation and 100 years since the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

He adds: "I cannot think of a better way to mark 2017 than by paying tribute to the soldiers and their families who have served their country so bravely." The royal goes on to invite all Canadians to support next year's Invictus Games in Toronto. "I hope you all will get behind the Canadian team and join us next September. I guarantee you'll be entertained, moved and inspired by the very best of the human spirit."

Harry kicked off the countdown to Invictus Toronto in May

In March, the former apache helicopter pilot made the exciting announcement that he had selected the capital city of Ontario as host of the third instalment of his Paralympic-inspired sporting event. He later visited the city to join Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in kicking off the countdown to next fall's competition. Most recently, Harry announced that the Invictus Games will move to Sydney in 2018.
