Clarence House has shared Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall's Christmas card for 2016.

The card includes a photograph of the royal couple taken during their Spring Tour to the Western Balkans and Croatia. In the photo, which is surrounded by a thin red border, Camilla is wrapped up in a white coat with a black hat and matching gloves while holding a black clutch bag and is smiling for the camera, while Prince Charles looks happy and content while wearing a brown winter coat. The couple were joined in the snap by locals in their traditional national costumes while at the Cultural Heritage Festival in Osijek, Croatia, where the group performed a local dance during the Duke and Duchess's trip.

The Prince of Wales's feathers and the Duchess of Cornwall's cipher are printed on the outside and cover of the Christmas card, and the message inside the card reads: "Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year."  The couple's home Clarence House has already had a festive makeover which was shown in a 30-second clip posted on their official Twitter account. "Introducing the beautiful @ClarenceHouse Christmas tree! #NationalChristmasTreeDay," the caption said, showing off the red and gold ornaments and white lights.

The royal couple chose a photo from their spring tour

Prince Charles and Camilla have had quite the year. Not only did they complete their royal tour over the spring, Prince Charles was also named Londoner of the Decade by the Evening Standard back in September. Accepting the honour, the first-in-line to the throne said: "I am most touched, and indeed surprised, that the Evening Standard should have decided to give me the award of Londoner of the Decade. As I suppose I have spent most of my life trying to propose and initiate things that very few people could see the point of, or, frankly, thought were plain bonkers at the time, perhaps some of them are now beginning to recognise a spot of pioneering in all this apparent madness?"
